Happy… Christmas?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

October, as always, has been a crazy busy time for us entertainers, and the bookings have already begun for Christmas shows and parties.

If your company or church or school or home will need a balloon entertainer, face painter,  juggler, magician, pony ride, etc. for the holidays, now’s the time to check with us about the date and time you are thinking of.

For a live look at the quality of the baloons and faces we do, visit one of the restaurants where we perform every week – they’re listed on our website.

Oh, and have a happy Halloween!

Long Distance Love

Monday, October 26th, 2009

We (Tony the Balloon Guy & Face Painter Phyllis) get calls and e-mails from New York and Honduras and other fairly-far-away places, asking about our services, and ususally we can’t help, because we are in FLORIDA.

But last week someone from Michigan wanted us to do an arrangement of balloons in her parents’ yard to celebrate their 49th wedding anniversary here in Florida.  We could do that, and we did!  There’s a picture of it on the front of our website.

Although most of our work is entertainment, we do decor for big events like grand openings and dances and weddings, and we do deliveries of balloon arrangments, or balloon hats/animals/etc. made on the spot to celebrate/embarrass a special person.

Do you know a special person?  I mean, besides you?

Have a fun day!

Wow… science AND industry!

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Phyllis and I (Tony the Balloon Guy) had lots of fun doing balloons and face painting for all the creatures and characters at Tampa’s Museum of Science and Industry’s Halloboo Friday night.  The museum is still an awesome place, and the kids were so fun.  The parents, too!

My creepy favorite moment…

ME:  Well, you look pretty today.  Not scary at all.  Which I guess is OK…

YOUNG GIRL:  I’m a doll.

ME:  OK, well, maybe that’s a LITTLE scary…

YOUNG GIRL:  I’m a doll who was kept in a glass box for years and years.  No one ever played with me.  So I became very angry, and broke out of my box, and killed a lot of people.

ME:

YOUNG GIRL:  (sweetly smiling)

School Nights

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

The Spring Hill Chili’s is a lot of fun these days with schools making Monday (which is already kids night) their school night.  Made some Tigers for Westside Elementary last night (one for the principal even), and had fun with a bunch of kids from Spring Hill Elementary the Monday before.

Face Painter Phyllis is always happiest when she has a lot of kids to paint, too!

The families from the school-of-the-night get a discount on dinner (by way of coupon), and there’s balloons and face painting!  And I think part of the night’s profits are donated to the school.  Every school and every restaurant should consider this kind of promotion!

Have a fun day!

Balloon Boy?

Monday, October 19th, 2009

We (Tony the Balloon Guy & Face Painter Phyllis) were driving home from entertaining at Anthony’s Italian Restaurant, listening to the news on NPR.  We hadn’t heard any news or had the TV on that day, and it was about 9pm, and we heard that…

A little boy had been found safe at home after his parents reported that they suspected he had flown away on a helium balloon.

WHAT?????

Now later, when we saw the news on TV that night, we understood.  But from that little news piece, we asked ourselves, “Did they not think a stranger might have taken him?  Did they not think he might have run away from home?  They thought he flew away on a helium balloon?  Who is this kid - Pooh Bear???”

That was a pretty cool balloon, though.  Maybe if they mass produce it, people will stop tying a hundred round balloons together to fly around on an lawn chair.

Have a fun day!!!

Face Painter Phyllis and I (Tony the Balloon Guy) had a lot of fun entertaining the kids between shows at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center Sunday.  Good to see so many families going to the theater!
