Happy Holidays!

OK, so it’s a little early, but you’re probably already making your plans for Christmastime, so think about balloons and face painting! Especially if you are having a party for your company or club. And of course for your family!

I (Tony the Balloon Guy) make fun and detailed Christmas balloon art like wreaths, candles, candy canes, snowmen, reindeer, angels, Christmas trees, and, of course, Santa. And Face Painter Phyllis can paint holiday-themed faces and cheek-or-hand art!

As I write this, it’s mid-October, and we are completely booked for Halloween and that weekend, we have some Thanksgiving jobs on the calendar, and a few birthday parties in December are already set, so don’t wait to contact us about your holiday party!

Playing with the Big Kids

The other night, I (Tony the Balloon Guy) made balloon art for the Nature Coast Technical High School homecoming dance (go Sharks!) for the second year in a row.

High school kids love balloons, and they’re so funny and enthusiastic about things. I love that job. I was cranking out big, crazy hats, teddy bears, hearts, flowers, swords and more for three hours, non-stop.

I also find that kids that age enjoy the balloons when I’m at birthday parties for little kids. Fun! And the 12-year-old twins and all their friends were wild about balloon animals at their birthday party a couple months ago.

Last year I even did an event at the University of South Florida in Tampa (go Bulls!), and the college kids were lined up the whole time! The favorite that day was monkeys.

Now that I think about it, when I spent a year doing balloons at an Orlando Ale House, some of the most fun I had was when it was slow inside, and I would go out to the outside bar and make stuff for the grown-ups. Those people LOVED balloons. Good tippers, too! Same down at Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach.

Many times a year, I do balloon shows at retirement communities and assisted living facilities, and they love the balloons, there, too. They’ll seek me out afterwards and tell me how much fun they had, and how they never saw anything like what I do before.

I guess what I’ve learned is, there’s no such thing as too old for balloon entertainment. And you’re never too old for me to have a great time making you something!

Do I Look It? (Tampa Bay area – Tampa-Clearwater-St. Petersburg – balloon artist/balloon twister Tony the Balloon Guy loves the funny things kids say, even at his own expense)

People always ask me how long I (Tony the Balloon Guy) have been a balloon artist. I take it as a compliment, like, “You are so good at this, you must have been doing it a long time!” If that’s not what they mean, please keep it to yourself – I’m happy with my interpretation.

Anyway, at a Golden Corral restaurant, a youngster asked me how long I had been doing balloons. I told him it had been a hundred and fifty years.

“Wow,” he said, eyes wide. “You must have started when you were SIX!”

As I (Tony the Balloon Guy) approached a table at Anthony’s (a very nice Italian restaurant, and the name is just a coincidence), a young regular customer called out…

“Balloon Man! Balloon Man! Listen to me BURP!”

And then he did.
